Dada- A group of European artists against World War 1 and it's society. Artists used absurdities to create art. One artist of this style is an Israeli artist named Marcel Janco.
Art Nouveau- Art nouveau is characterized by intricate curved lines. It was popular in Europe and the US. A popular artist of this style was Louis Comfort Tiffany. He was known for Tiffany stained glass.
Abstract Expressionism- Objects are not represented in this form of art. The artist expresses himself through the use of color and form. It is considered to be the first art form in America. Mary Callery expressed her art through abstract people.
German Expressionism- German expressionist painters typically distorted color, scale and space to show their feelings about what they saw. Karl Schmidt-Rottluff was a leading figure for German expressionism in the early 20th century.
Op Art- Optical Art is a form of abstract art, which uses repetition of simple forms and colors to create vibrating effects. Guido Molinari is an example of the many artists of op art.
Pop Art- Pop art explores everyday imagery such as advertisements, comics, celebrity photographs, and consumer packaging products. Andy Warhol is a leading artist in this style.
